A delinquent girl escapes from a prison and hides out on a plantation, where she becomes a steamy, scheming temptress, running wild with her sexual favors and turning its orderly domestic life into frenzied chaos.
This is melodrama at its best in a work that anticipates such Bunuel classics as Tristana and That Obscure Object Of Desire. Bunuel uses the power of eroticism to reveal the hypocrisies of society.
