His family´s future depends onone unstable element.
If there was an accident, and you only had days to live... how far would you go to ensure your family´s future?
The gripping, HBO Films dramatic thriller Pu-239 tells the story of Timofey (Paddy Considine, The Bourne Ultimatum), a nuclear-power plant worker in 1995 post-Soviet Russia. Exposed to a deadly dose of radiation while trying to avert a plant disaster, Timofey learns that authorities lied about the extent of his exposure, and that he has only a few days to live. Desperate to provide security for his wife (Radha Mitchell, Finding Neverland) and son, Timofey steals a small amount of Pu-239 - weapons-grade plutonium - and heads to Moscow with a vial strapped to his body to attempt a quick sale. Amid the "new Russia" criminal background, Timofey races against the clock, grasping his only hope for his family´s future - one of the world´s most dangerous substances.
