The tenants of this boarding house are an unhappy lot, quick to be nasty word to their fellow lodgers. Only one has everyone's respect - wealthy Mr. Wright. But when a marriage is arranged between Mr. Wright and the unwilling daughter of Major Tomkins, a stranger arrives. He slowly gains everyone's trust and encourages them to treat each other with respect. But Mr. Wright doesn't take kindly to this, and tries to unravel the stranger's influence. (1935)
