Maximum Overdrive

The folks at the Dixie Boy truck stop in North Carolina learn the true meaning of "heavy metal" when the Earth passes through the tail of a comet, bringing all the vehicles and machinery in the area to life. And with the mechanized menaces attacking everyone in sight, a small group of people must fight for their very survival. Stephen King wrote and directed this fast-paced thriller, based on his short story "Trucks." (1986)
