A peaceful Quaker farming community is shattered when a gang of heavily armed ex-cons takes a family hostage, demanding millions in ransom from a local bank. Leading the criminals is a volatile young man with a disturbing past connection to the community. Bound by their commitment to non-violence, the Quakers attempt to end the siege through patience and isolation rather than force.
