South Wales, 2000: Animal-loving club barmaid Jan Vokes (Toni Collette) overheard patron Howard Davies (Damian Lewis) about his dabbling in racehorses-and she believed it would be a rallying point for their depressed mining town if the locals chipped in on a broodmare. The venture produced a foal named Dream Alliance-and the odyssey of horse and owners through the fateful 2009 Grand National fuels this engaging effort. (2020)
