Rosita Amado is an awkward, shy, and somewhat homely girl from the remote Mexican village of Xochilcacahuatel. Her late grandfather, Juan Amado, the Chocolate King, has willed her his secret Mayan recipe, which she takes to Florida, along with her great-aunt Dulce, her uncle Diosdado, and an assortment of other uncouth relatives, in order to fulfill her grandfathers final wish.
