Count Of Monte Cristo

Richly mounted French/Italian miniseries take on the Dumas classic stars Sam Claflin as Edmond Dantes, the young sailor framed for treason and consigned for years to a bleak island prison. Aided in his patient bid for escape by fellow inmate Abbé Faria (Jeremy Irons), Dantes follows the holy man's map to a cache of treasure-and uses it to mount a vengeance campaign against those who set him up.
