American Friends

While on an Alpine vacation, stuffy Oxford professor Francis Ashby (Michael Palin) finds his cloistered existence challenged when he makes the fortuitous─and enjoyable─acquaintance of American Caroline Ward (C) and her teenaged ward Elinor (Trini Alvarado). Back home, he finds his nomination for the college presidency jeopardized when both women show up─and are very much jockeying for his attentions. Charming farce co-stars Alfred Molina, Susan Denaker.
