After shooting scenes, what´s a filmmaker to do next? Edit. The Young Filmmakers Club brings you the basics of editing here in Digital Video Editing. In this video, host Logan O´Brien talks about the techniques and tools of editing process, the editor´s tools and the language of the motion picture. Digital Video Editing takes the viewer from getting the footage into the computer, through the editing process of cutting down and tightening the story, and finally to linking the clips together to create a smooth, visually flowing story.
Digital Video Editing demonstrates editing using a non-linear editing (NLE) software program. Editing techniques are demonstrated on iMovie and Final Cut Express. Most techniques shown are non-platform specific and apply to most Digital NLE´s programs.
