Piece of Cake follows the adventures, heartaches and rites of passage of the fighter pilots of RAF Hornet Squadron during World War II.

It is 1939 and Rex, the arrogant, overly confident and aristocratic new commanding officer, arrives to transfer the squadron to France.

As the story unfolds, the class consciousness of the British officers takes second place to the War, while the lives and loves of the squadron undergo continuous change.
