Nino, his Mother, Juliet and their dog Rex are out on a sunny afternoon in the park. When the absent-minded scientist, Alex, walks into the path of an oncoming car, Rex sacrifices himself to save the man´s life. To repay his debt, Alex operates on the dog back at his lab. The procedure is a success, but not what Nino and his Mom had in mind. Rex has been implanted with a computer chip giving him amazing new super powers. Little does anyone know that Alex´s partner, Erica, has her own plans for the dog.
Part of a techno-crime trio, Erica and her partners plan on selling the chip to the highest bidder. Catching a super-dog poses a problem, however, so they decide to kidnap Nino, hoping that Rex will come to the boy´s rescue. Be careful what you wish for...Rex is a dog who has learned some new tricks!
