October 29th, 1873. John Mackay (Mack Williams) and James Fair (Paul Birch) have invested close to 0,000 into the apparently worthless Comstock mine in the hopes of discovering silver. People are losing faith and increasingly suspicious of stock manipulation and fraud. Then they receive the big news. Also starring Denver Pyle and Parley Baer.
The Overthrow of the Tweed Ring:
November 7th, 1871. New York citizens are fed up with the corruption of William Tweed (Paul Maxey) who has gained political control through bribery and intimidation. New York Times editor Louis J. Jennings (Herbert Rudley), Sheriff James O´Brien (Roy Engel) and cartoonist Thomas Nast (Edgar Barrier) begin a movement to rid the city of Tweed which proves to be successful on election day.
