American Justice - Quiz Show Scandal And Other Frauds

From the famous Quiz Show Scandals of the 1950s to the disturbing Tawanna Brawley hoax in the 1980s, America has been the site of numerous public deceptions in recent history.

Herbert Stempel, a renowned contestant on the popular ´50s game show Twenty-One, blew the whistle on the shows producers after he was instructed to deliberately lose a game. Stempel´s revelation set in motion a series of momentous events, including several popular game shows being taken off the air. In the 1970s, Clifford Irving procured a deal with McGraw-Hill to publish the "authorized autobiography" of Howard Hughes. However, before the erroneous tale could be published, an ailing Hughes publicly ousted Irving and sent him and his co-conspirators to jail.

From simple greed to marketing strategies, a desire for fame, or fear of getting into trouble, American Justice explores some of the country´s most mystifying hoaxes.
